Jacksonville has been full of some fantastic fights over the last few days. Yesterday provided some absolute barn burners including Glover upsetting Anthony Lion Heart Smith and Drew Dober derailing Alexander Hernandez. We now look forward to what could potentially be the last fight in Jacksonville for a while and break down the main card. Song Yadong vs Marlon Vera: This has the fight of the night written all over it! Both fighters are a combined 12-0-1 in their last 13 fights with a majority of those wins coming from finishes. Song Yadong was unfortunately deducted 1 point in his last fight for an illegal knee which ultimately led to a draw. Looking past that he has won 7 straight with only two going to decision. Marlon Vera is on a 5 fight winning streak with all 5 ending by either TKO or a rear-naked choke. This is a tough one, both guys have looked extremely good in their last few fights! I'm predicting a decision victory for Song Yadong.
Eryk Anders vs Krzysztof Jotko: Both fighters have seemed to struggle when it comes to big named opponents. Jotko lost three straight from the likes of David Branch, Uriah Hall, and Brad Tavares before getting back on the right track winning two in a row. Anders is in the same boat losing 3 to Thiago Santos, Elias Theodorou, and Khalil Roundtree before getting his hand raised in two straight fights. I'm taking Jotko by decision in this one.
Dan Ige vs Edson Barboza: Edson Barboza is a walking highlight reel! He has fought the best of the best including Donald Cerrone, Paul Felder, Tony Ferguson, Anthony Pettis, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Kevin Lee, Dan Hooker, Justin Gaethje, and many more. Dan, on the other hand, is looking to make a name for himself. He won his last fight by split decision vs a tough Mirsad Bektic but doesn't have the names or finished to back up me picking him. I see Edson Barboza putting him away in the first round.
Claudia Gadelha vs Angela Hill: This is the easiest pick in my opinion. Claudia Gadelha has fought only the best in her career including fighting for the belt twice and has had some impressive wins. Angela however, has fallen to all the big-name fighters she has faced so far. I see this one being a decision victory for Claudia where she takes her down and implements ground and pound.
Alistair Overeem vs Walt Harris: The main-event has all the makings of a great fight. Both fighters are killers with a lot at stake. Alistair is running out of time to take a shot at the UFC gold. He has achieved so much in the sport but has always fallen short of obtaining the belt. Walt is coming off 4 wins in a row, ending 3 with KO's. Walt has been away for roughly a year dealing with a family tragedy and is looking to put his name in the title contention. I predict a finish in the second round for Walt Harris but can see this fight going either way!
