With Covid-19 spread across the country, nearly every sport on the planet has come to a screeching halt. The NBA and NHL have canceled their season, MLB has been paused it indefinitely, and the NFL just did their first-ever live stream draft and are hoping it doesn't affect their season. There is one sport however that isn't taking a step back but instead doing whatever means necessary to keep the show going. I am of course talking about MMA and the UFC in particular. After countless efforts to get some fights to happen its appears that we are officially getting fights again. Heres what we have to look forward to:
UFC 249: UFC 249 was announced by Dana White on an Instagram live with Brett Okamoto. It is scheduled for May 9th and is jam-packed with exciting fights! Here is the list of fights you can expect.
From top to bottom these fights are what fight fans want and need after not being able to watch in so long but there was even more good news. Dana also announced that there will be fights on May 13th and May 16 as well!!! After having this huge layoff Dana seems to be firing on all cylinders and I couldn't be more excited.
Fight Island: Dana also brought up fight Island that should be ready in June. He plans on putting an octagon right on a beach and having all the infrastructure ready to host events for international fighters.
Forget Love Island, Fight Island might be one of the craziest things this sport or any sport has ever seen! International fighters are not allowed to come into the united states so this allows UFC athletes to compete and go home without the worry of getting stuck in quarantine.
Covid-19 has thrown a wrench in 2020 but the UFC is doing whatever it takes to try to entertain its fans in this difficult time and we plan to do the same! As long as UFC events are going on you can find free and paid contest for cash on our site! We will also be having season-long leagues available to join or if you want to do a private league with friends email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will get that made for you. Thanks for all the support and stay safe!
